NEW YORK, NY — The New York Mets have lost nine consecutive games. Mr. Met was present for all nine. He kept smiling. But we now know how difficult that must have been.

Poor Mr. Met

We told you at the beginning of the season to watch these developments.

What we know is that Mr. Met returned home from Chicago on the evening of April 17th to his tenement in Queens, NY where the unspeakable happened. He is listed in critical condition at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.

Update: The Mets have since lost an eleventh (and twelfth) consecutive game. Mr. Met was not present for these losses. Under the circumstances, we are glad he was spared. His condition remains unchanged.
