NEW YORK, NY — Six sports mascots arrived at the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday night without invitations. None made it inside. Our cameras were there.

Rumble the Bison, Oklahoma City Thunder: “SGA is in there, so I thought I should be here, too.”

Steely McBeam, Pittsburgh Steelers: He characterized his removal as “temporary.”

Artie the Artichoke, Scottsdale Community College: He had no explanation for his presence and appreciated the escort out.

King Cake Baby, New Orleans Pelicans: “THIS IS THE PLACE FOR WEIRDOS, RIGHT?!” he said, and he meant it.

Stuff the Magic Dragon, Orlando Magic: “I just needed something good after this last week. I wanted to get out, not be stuck at home. I guess I’m gonna go home.”

Mr. Met, New York Mets: “My name is in the title,” he said, in a neck brace, outside.
